Each character has a distinct set of superpowers, as in the movie, and these can become stronger with experience. Canadian developer BioWare's first role-playing game after Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is set in a mythic version of ancient China, at a time when a parallel world of darkness and chaos threatens to cross over into the realm of the living. Players initially choose from a selection of predefined characters, each with a name, background, and distinct skill set. They will then be able to gradually shape their character's fighting style from over 30 different types, from martial arts to weapons-based combat to even magic. Combat is performed in real-time from a third-person perspective, with players able to pause the game to execute specific commands during the fighting sequences. Body, mind, and spirit are the three primary attributes inherent in each character, and over time mastery over these guiding forces allows players to transform into a terra-cotta warrior, fox, or ghoul, respectively. No matter which character is selected at the onset, players will be able to hold court in a base of operations called the stronghold, where they can practice specific techniques, store acquired relics or mementos, and even build a flying ship in the shape of a dragonfly. Though the game follows the path of one character instead of a party, players can earn "followers" to their cause who will remain at the stronghold to be assigned tasks that will help influence the story.

On the back of a fire breathing-dragon is where Eragon stands against the invading army of Shade Durza. Gamers begin as a semi-skilled hero who is upgraded as the story progresses. Players may execute attacks with arrows, swords, and magic. Using magic, Eragon can push or pull an enemy toward him or knock attackers off platforms. Eragon can also manipulate his environment by creating pathways to previously unreachable areas. During the adventure, players may call for help from Saphira, Eragon's dragon, to complete airborne objectives and deliver attacks from the sky during melee combat on the ground. In flight, players direct the movement of the dragon, delivering tail swipes and fireballs to opponents as Saphira.

In Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, you once again take control of Crash and his sister, Coco. As Crash is enjoying the day out, Uka Uka is planning yet once again. Dr. Neo Cortex has a project he has been working on, named Crunch. But unfortunately, he needs more power to complete Crunch, so Uka Uka tells them they can use the Elemental Masks to Cortex can complete Crunch. The elemental masks were masks that had power over earth, air, fire, and water. They were renegades though, they used their powers for bad and not good, until Ancient Ancestors imprisoned them using crystals. Uka Uka uses his power to release these masks, causing destruction among the planet. Crash knows he must get to work. So with the assistance of Aku Aku, and Coco's Virtual Reality warp device, Crash sets out to retrieve the crystals that once imprisoned the elemental masks.
